According to the data from UNWTO, there were almost 25 million departures by both same-day and overnight visitors in Hungary in 2019. This is the highest figure recorded over the observed time period compared to 22.8 mil in 2018.

Outbound tourism expenditure reached almost 970 billion Hungarian forints in 2019. This was the highest figure in Hungary during the observed period, compared to 882 billion in 2018 with nearly 10 % increase year on year.
